Other Changes since 1.10.1

• We now require the use of Pacman 3.28. The VDT is hosting a pre-release of this version.
• We have added a new tool, vdt-ca-manage, to help simplify managing the CA certificates. This tool will be used to automatically setup the certificates after installation. For more info, see the man page.
• We have removed jClarens from the VDT.
• We have removed Java 1.4 and Tomcat 5 from the VDT because jClarens was the only component that still depended on them (note: the VDT still includes Java 5 and Java 6, as well as Tomcat 5.5)
• We no longer support the VDT_PRETEND_32 environment variable. Instead, on x86_64 systems, use the new pacman feature, '-pretend-arch i686'. Support for 32-on-x86_64 is no longer tested. More info
• We no longer recognize the VDT_ALLOW_UNSUPPORTED environment variable. When installing on a platform other than those we support, try using the pacman '-pretend-platform' flag. More info
• Made major improvements to the size and structure of our Pacman files that allow for faster installation times and better error messages when Pacman encounters a problem.
• Added a revision to all of our Pacman packages. This will allow us to require updates on an individual platform basis. Additionally, we can now add platform support for packages without requiring an update on all other platforms.
• All packages can now check for updates with vdt-version.
• We now preserve VDTSETUP_CONDOR_LOCATION and VDTSETUP_CONDOR_CONFIG (if they are set at installation time) so that it is not necessary to re-set them before running "pacman -update" commands.
• Added a test in our test suite for the Procd.
• Man pages are now created for the VDT configuration scripts in the vdt/setup directory. If you have installed Apache, try 'man configure_apache' for an example.
• We have removed the perl wrapper from all platforms except Scientific Linux 3. We have reduced the set of Perl modules that we include in the distribution.
• We now support Java 6 on IA-64 platforms.
