Download the VDT
There are three ways that you can download the VDT.
-
Instead of directly downloading, installing, and configuring the
VDT--a fairly large task--you can use an installation program. We use
an installer program called
Pacman which provides a simple interface to this complex
process: it will download the appropriate pieces of software, ask you
questions about configuration, and do as much set up as it can.
You can learn more about this process in our
documentation.
-
A subset of the VDT is provided as RPMs. These are not quite as
convenient to use because none of the VDT configuration utilities are
yet included. You can learn more about installing the VDT from RPMs in our
documentation.
-
A subset of the VDT is provided as Debian packages. These are similar
to the RPMs and are not as convenient to use as the Pacman
installation. You can learn more about installing the VDT from Debian
packages in our documentation.
