For each build, consider the following items:

• Check for a new version of the component — should we upgrade?
• Update the *_VERSION and *_VERSION_DIR settings in the defs file
• Pin the build — one year is good for production releases
• Commit any changes to Subversion
• Run make-vdt on the package
• Test the new component

In order to rebuild VDT 1.3.10, I thought I had to check out with a time spec, then tag it. I checked it out with:

cvs co -r nmi_7_branch -D 2006-02-11 nwo

When tagging it, I found that it was already tagged with the tag I chose. VDT 1.3.10 can be checked out with:

cvs co -r VDT1_3_10 nwo

To build:

• export _NMI_PROJECT_VERSION=1.3.10

• Edit globus-glue.cvs to change cvs_tag to be VDT1_3_10
• Double-check cmdfile to ensure that inputs has vdt-patched.ftp in it (it did.)
• Double-check cmdfile to ensure the platform list is right (the right list was commented out)
• Double-check cmdfile against the one in the build. (Click through above)
• Submit build.
• After build, double-check it took the right glue from CVS. (Look at checkout step.)
