The VDT team is proud to announce that the next stable series version of the VDT will be released later today. We are currently writing release notes and documentation and hope to have it shipped by the end of the business day. It is believed that this is the most solid and stable release of the VDT in the last few months; almost all components and platforms are passing our nightly certification tests.
The major new components since VDT 1.4 in this release include:
VDT 1.6.0 will be tested by the Open Science Grid's Validation Test Bed over the next two months. This will hopefully uncover minor problems and bugs which will be corrected in a VDT 1.6.1 release planned for early January. VDT 1.6.1 will only contain these minor updates, one being an update to Condor 6.8.3. Afterwards, this VDT release will be deployed in the Integration Test Bed for last minute testing before being put into production on the Open Science Grid.
