Installation questions

In the process of normal installation of VDT, the user is asked several questions, for example:

• Do you agree to the licences?
• Would you like to enable Globus Gatekeeper daemon?
• etc..

Pre-answering question

In VDT 1.1.14 any one or more of the VDT installation questions can be answered pre-emptively by setting appropriate environment variables beforehand. This allows a fully automatic installation without user intervention. This can be done in one of two ways:

• Setting the environment variables manually before calling pacman -get ...
• Setting entries in $VDT_LOCATION/vdt-questions.sh

Environment Variables

The following table shows the environment variables that can be set to pre-answer the question they correspond to.
