The VDT system profiler is a tool to assist in the debugging of the VDT. When you have a problem with a VDT installation that is not easily solved, use the VDT system profiler to create a profile that describes your system and your VDT installation, and send it to the VDT team.
To use the VDT system profiler, just invoke the command, which is located in $VDT_LOCATION/vdt/bin. For the command to work properly, you must first 'source' the setup.csh or setup.sh file to configure your environment. When you do this, the system profiler it should be in your PATH.
source setup.csh (or source setup.sh) vdt-system-profiler
The profiler runs for a second or two, then create a file named vdt-profile.txt in the same directory as you ran the command. This file does not contain any information that you should be worried about sending to us, but feel free to examine the file and edit it, in case you are worried about it.
