This was a significant upgrade from VDT 1.1.2:

The VDT can now be installed anywhere, not just in /vdt.
configuration has been added so that it is easier to use the VDT out of the box
A vdt-install.log file is created with details of what happens during installation. Normally you don't need to look at it, but it can be useful for debugging purposes.

A post-install directory is now created that gives you information about what could not be configured, if you installed as a user other than root or if there were errors.
