Note: This web site is only kept up to date for OSG Software 1.2 (VDT 2.0.0). If you are looking for information for the most recent release, the RPM-based OSG Software 3.0, please see the OSG documentation web site

Note: This version of the VDT (1.3.4) is no longer supported. Feel free to look through the documentation and install it, but we cannot guarantee support for it. The current stable release is 2.0.0.

Using the VDT with TCP wrappers

TCP wrappers provide application level host-based access control to inetd and xinetd servers. By default this policy is described in /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny. The VDT does not include TCP wrappers, but since we do run servers via inetd/xinetd. This document assumes you're running TCP wrappers and describes the policy changes required to access the installed services.

Globus Gatekeeper

The VDT does not run the Gatekeeper directly but instead calls it through a wrapper script which sets up the environment. To control access to the Gatekeeper use the program name vdt-run-globus-gatekeeper.sh.

GridFTP Server

The VDT does not run the GridFTP server directly but instead calls it through a wrapper script which sets up the environment. To control access to the GridFTP server use the program name vdt-run-gsiftp.sh.
