Note: This version of the VDT (1.5.0) is no longer supported. Feel free to look through the documentation and install it, but we cannot guarantee support for it. The current stable release is 1.10.1.
On 18 October 2006, the VDT team announced the release of VDT 1.5.0.
This release begins the new VDT 1.5 development series. As discussed elsewhere, we hope to begin releasing development releases more often so that the community can try out new features earlier. We recommend that most users should use the VDT 1.4.0 stable release, not this development release. Development releases are not as carefully tested, and are not expected to be as solid as a stable release.
Details follow.
The primary new component included in this release is the Gratia reporting system. Gratia consists of two main parts:
Gratia is still under development and the VDT packages that install it have been tested only lightly. The goal is to start working with Gratia now in order to have a solid release ready for VDT 1.6.0 / OSG 0.6.0.
To install Gratia now, install the following VDT packages (in the order listed):
At this point, you should have a running Gratia reporting system that is monitoring Condor jobs.
After consulting with the VDT community about the need for supporting old platforms, we have dropped support for the following:
$VDT_LOCATION/monitoring/grid3-user-vo-map.local into
$VDT_LOCATION/monitoring/grid3-user-vo-map.txt. The text is simply
copied, with no editing or verification. If the .local file doesn't
exist, nothing happens. This allows you to make easy modifications
ot the grid3-user-vo-map file.
