Note: This version of the VDT (1.8.1) is no longer supported. Feel free to look through the documentation and install it, but we cannot guarantee support for it. The current stable release is 2.0.0.

AIX 5 Support

We have validated a subset of the VDT on AIX 5:

• Globus-Base-Essentials (grid-proxy-init, globus-url-copy, etc.)
• Globus-Base-Data-Server (GridFTP service)
• GRAM + Fork job manager

System requirements

You must install the following software before the VDT will work:

• The Pseudo Random Number Generator Daemon for use with OpenSSL
• File::Tail perl module
• XML::Parser perl module (this requires the VDT Expat package as well). This is required for GRAM, but not for GridFTP and Globus-Base-Essentials.
