Note: This version of the VDT (1.8.1) is supported, but is not our latest stable release. The current stable release is 1.10.1.

AIX 5 Support

We have validated a subset of the VDT on AIX 5:

• Globus-Base-Essentials (grid-proxy-init, globus-url-copy, etc.)
• Globus-Base-Data-Server (GridFTP service)
• GRAM + Fork job manager

System requirements

You must install the following software before the VDT will work:

• The Pseudo Random Number Generator Daemon for use with OpenSSL
• File::Tail perl module
• XML::Parser perl module (this requires the VDT Expat package as well). This is required for GRAM, but not for GridFTP and Globus-Base-Essentials.
