VDT query tools

The VDT includes a set of tools that allows the user to perform queries of the files / packages that are installed as part of VDT. The tools are installed in $VDT_LOCATION/vdt/bin directory:

find_modified_files - finds files that have been modified (to help with troubleshooting an installation)
vdt-list-packages - lists the Pacman packages which have been installed as part of VDT
vdt-list-package-files - lists the files beloging to a particular package
vdt-which-package - lists the package(s) to which a given file belongs

find_modified_files

Usage:

Usage: find_modified_files [DIR]
finds all files in the current VDT installation which have been modified by hand (i.e. after the pacman installation(s))
useful for finding which configuration files have been intentionally or accidentally modified (useful for troubleshooting)
optional DIR parameter specifies a subdirectory of $VDT_LOCATION to narrow the search to

vdt-list-packages

Usage:

Usage: vdt-list-packages
Lists all VDT packages that have been installed.

vdt-list-package-files

Usage:

Usage: vdt-list-package-files PKG
Lists all files/directories belonging to a specific package
PKG specifies the Pacman package to query

Example:

Usage:

Lists the package(s) that the file FILE belongs to
