VDT 2.0.0p21 Update
On 2010-10-05, the VDT team announced the release of VDT 2.0.0p21.
-
Removed sourcing of setup.sh from the Globus Jobmanager. This will decrease
the load on CEs by reducing the cost of each Globus job submission.
(VDT ticket 7451)
-
Improved the vdt-updater script to remove some steps in the update process.
One of the steps removed is taking a second backup, which will no longer be
necessary. The new update process can be followed once you have the latest
version of the updater (i.e. not during this update, but the subsequent one).
-
Updated Glexec to version 0.6.8.3-osg3. (VDT ticket 6739).
Glexec changelog.
Highlights:
- Fix support for the user having done grid-proxy-init as opposed to voms-proxy-init.
- Change glexec_monitor to catch the SIGTERM signal and clean up including killing
child processes procd and gidd_alloc. This should prevent gidd_alloc processes from
being left around after a condor_rm.
-
Updated PRIMA to version 0.8.8. (VDT ticket 6739)
-
Updated GIP to version 1.1.10. This includes two patches for LSF sites.
-
Updated Fetch-CRL to version 2.8.5. (VDT ticket 4816)
Changed the configuration of Fetch-CRL so that if a CRL file is
corrupted (e.g. becomes a 0-length file), it will be overwritten by
Fetch-CRL on the next invocation. (VDT ticket 6239)
-
Updated MyProxy to version 5.2
-
Updated Gratia Collector to version 1.06.17. (VDT ticket 7375)
-
Updated some init scripts to create locks in /var/lock/subsys on RedHat
systems (and equivalents). Affected components: Apache, MySQL, Tomcat,
Condor, Condor-Cron, and Globus-WS. It may be necessary to re-run the
associated configure script for some components to get the updated init
script. Contact the VDT team for assistance. (VDT ticket 7052)
-
Updated MySQL to version 5.0.91. This update includes security fixes.
-
Updated Apache to version 2.2.16.
Apache change log
-
Updated the default memory the Tomcat starts with to 512 MB. This
change was requested because CEMon may run out of memory for large
sites. (VDT ticket 6038)
-
Updated to OpenLDAP 2.4.23 to address a security issue. The
security issue may not affect us (we only ship the client, not the
server), but we updated to be totally sure.
Secunia Advisory
(VDT ticket 7384)
-
Updated LFC from 1.7.2-4 to 1.7.4-7. (On behalf of ATLAS.)
-
Updated Bestman2 from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2.
If you installed VDT 2.0.0 after VDT 2.0.0p21 was released on
2010-10-05, you do not need to do any of these update operations
because you will have 2.0.0p21.
Recommended method: VDT Updater
We strongly encourage users to update the VDT using the VDT updater
script:
VDT Updater Instructions
Not recommended: Pacman update
If you really want to do it the hard way,
instructions for updating by using
Pacman directly are available on another page. This method is
hard to follow and error prone.
